Meeting Summary

June 10, 2026

Opening Statement-
A Call for Unity
Divide and conquer has been a favorite tactic of the current power structure for centuries now.
When our people were in bondage, it was light-skinned Blacks versus dark-skinned Blacks.
Moving forward, it was W.E.B. Du Bois versus Booker T. Washington versus Marcus Garvey.
Malcolm vs. Martin.
Bloods vs. Crips.
Liberal vs. Conservative.
And when I was coming up, locally, it was Bond Hill vs. Avondale.
NatiDems represents the cease-and-desist of that tactic.
The only requirement to be a NatiDem is to be Black and share in the value of the progression of our community.
That’s why NatiDems welcomes all of our Black elected Democrats to join us.
For too long, we’ve been working in silos, on islands all alone.
NatiDems recognizes the path all of you have paved and the courage it takes for you to keep
pushing every day.
So, I say, as the coordinator of the NatiDems, we welcome:

  • Alicia Reece
  • Iris Roley
  • Jan-Michele
  • Scotty Johnson
  • Meeka Owens
  • Cecil Thomas
And all of the other Black leaders and elected officials.
You no longer have to be on that island alone.
NatiDems, with you aboard, is the ship that can save us all.
NatiDems encourages the entire Black community to take issue with:
  • Good, clean, affordable housing
  • Reading levels
  • Violence in our community
  • The lack of access to capital
  • The biased justice system

If you are tired of the Black community being first in all that’s bad and last in all that’s good,
Join NatiDems.
Let’s get rid of the rumors.
And demolish their divide-and-conquer tactics.
-Donald Washington, NatiDems Coordinator
